Have you seen my promo video?
I was thinking about making a video for a while, but I hadn’t figured out how to do so.
After a number of attempts to say everything at once, my speech impediment started to get crazy and refused to go away,
Brainy no longer understood what was going on and my frustrations were very visible, so I decided to record it in stages. ?
Migraine knows different shapes and different stages, so with that in mind, (and thanks to a dear friend, who thought that I did it on purpose ?) the result is now finally online.
I have to say I was very nervous about showing my face. ?
Writing gives a certain distance and has something safe, but a video gives more range, that’s why I decided to just do it.
I have no stop button when it comes to talking, but talking on camera is something very different and that became clear.
After attempting to record my talk while walking outside, the wind was blowing way to hard, so you couldn’t even hear me. (where maybe a few would have been happy with ?) I also tripped over my feet and stumbled against things, because well I’m just not good multitasker, so I chose to (fairly safe) record it indoors. ?
If you’ve read more of me, you probably know that I find humor important.
Though it is difficult in some cases, to not look like a morbid idiot, but to me it’s a tool to cope with heavy things. ?
Because migraine is a serious condition and our action is anything but a stunt, I found it difficult to use humor in the promo. That’s why I deliberately chose to only show my serious side.
The bloopers on the other hand, are pretty entertaining and it can also shows how awkward and difficult it was. That’s why I also share those videos.
Part 1 here;
(And a course operating the camera is also not a bad idea. ?)
The date of the rally comes closer and we still have a lot to do. ?
We don’t have a car yet, but we’re busy searching, so if someone has a caddy, or something like, around 20 years or older, which certainly is able to ride a 10000 km for sale, please roar. ?
Although I find vlogging and promoting our action super exciting, my enthusiasm to commit to a good cause, makes up so much.
For the first time in years I feel I can “do something with my illness” and I really hope to achieve something.
I’m still not there, but there’s a start. Now up to more promotion, a larger range of our campaign and of course more sponsors. ?
Update; Our campaign is over, but there’s still enough to read about our adventure. ?
